Amit Punj DMD is an Associate Professor of Dentistry and Associate Professor of Medicine (Geriatrics) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he is also the Chief and Program Director of Graduate Prosthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Punj graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, completed his Prosthodontic training at Montefiore Medical Center and has a Master of Clinical Research degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He maintains an intramural faculty practice, conducts research, publishes in peer reviewed journals, and lectures both regionally and nationally.
Dr. Punj is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists

Dr. Rawdin completed a Fellowship in implant Dentistry from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Prior to that, she completed three post-doctoral years in prosthodontic residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She received her doctoral degree from Midwestern University in Arizona and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
She is a diplomate of the American College of Prosthodontists, a Fellow of the Greater NY Academy of Prosthodontics, a Fellow and current Program Chair of the NGS Academy of Multidisciplinary Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the New York County Dental Society.

Dr. Schwarz completed his three year Masters in Prosthontics Residency at Columbia University. He received his doctoral degree from Tufts University and his undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University.
He is a Fellow of The New York Academy of Dentistry and currently serves as Secretary on its Board of Directors and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and, this evening, will assume the role of Secretary/Treasurer of the New York Section.. He is also a board member of the New York County Dental Society. Dr. Schwarz serves on the board of World of Smiles, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing comprehensive oral health care for underserved populations worldwide through sustainable local partnerships. Since 2018, he has participated in more than ten international outreach missions.

Dr. Nord is a board-certified Prosthodontics in the New York City area for over a decade. Dr. Nord’s training spans from west coast to east coast. He graduated from the University of Southern California with bachelor’s degrees in Biological Sciences and Psychology. Dr. Nord obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree cum laude from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He then attended New York Hospital Queens and Columbia University, where he completed his specialty training in Prosthodontics.
Dr. Nord is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He is actively involved in teaching and serves as faculty at the VA Medical Center, Manhattan Campus Prosthodontics residency program.

Elphida Ayvazian, DMD
President
Dr. Ayvazian received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2001. She completed a General Practice Residency followed by a two year Fellowship in Advanced Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry at North Shore University Hospital- Manhasset campus, where she received training in both surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry. She went on to complete a three- year Graduate Program in Prosthodontics at the Manhattan Veterans Administration, New York Harbor Healthcare System/ NYU College of Dentistry, where she was awarded a Certificate in Prosthodontics. Dr. Ayvazian is committed to education, and is currently an Attending at the Graduate Prosthodontics Program at the Veterans Administration, New York Harbor Healthcare System, where she is directly involved in the clinical and didactic education of prosthodontic residents. In addition to serving on Board of Directors for the New York Section of the American College of Prosthodontists, she also sits on the Board of Directors for the national American College of Prosthodontists. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Innovative Dentistry. Dr. Ayvazian lectures locally and nationally.

Peter Glavas, DDS

Dr. Glavas specilaizes in Cosmetic & Reconstructive Dentistry with 5 years of additional training to become a prosthodontist and implantologist. He is also a teaching attending at Northshore and Staten Island University Hospitals

Marjan Moghadam, DDS, MA

Marjan Moghadam, DDS, MA, earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University in 2002. She received her certificate in prosthodontics as well as a Masters’ degree in psychology after completing her General Practice Residency at Long Island College Hospital in 2003. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at New York University’s College of Dentistry. She is also the co-director of the Fixed Prosthodontics Clinic.

Dr. Barsoum graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, she chose to further her education by accepting a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. The following year, Dr. Barsoum was accepted into a 3-year prosthodontics residency at Montefiore Medical Center, after which she received her certificate in the specialty of prosthodontics.

Melani Kapetanakos, DDS, FACP

Dr. Melani Kapetanakos is a board-certified Prosthodontist. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) in 2003 and her Certificate in Prosthodontics at NYUCD in 2007, where she was awarded the Kenneth Adisman Award for outstanding resident. She continued her education with a Maxillofacial Prosthetics Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2015.
In addition to being a key member of the team at ClearChoice Dental Implant Center in Framingham, Dr. Kapetanakos has been a private practice Prosthodontist in New York, as well as the Director of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at Boston Medical Center. She has been on the faculty of many institutions including NYU, Columbia University, Tufts and Boston University. She has been published in the Journal of Prosthodontics and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Kapetanakos is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Past President of the New York Hellenic Dental Society. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and can usually be found on a lacrosse field, basketball court or hockey rink cheering on her sons.
